Volunteer Testimonials

Working with Lifesong Kenya as a volunteer has been an unforgettable experience. Even though I worked with them online, I felt like part of a family thanks to their enthusiasm and love for what they do. I’ve had the opportunity to do both, help with their projects and enhance my skills at the same time: such a wonderful way to volunteer! I look forward to coming to Nairobi and meeting all your exceptional young men in your new home! We all deserve second chances. However, there are people who haven’t even had their first. Thanks Lifesong Kenya for supporting them and believing in them.

Last summer, I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer with Lifesong Kenya as Social Media Campaign Coordinator. James and the rest of the team were incredibly welcoming, and their commitment to helping young men within the Kenyan juvenile justice system get back into society, learn valuable job skills, and reconcile with their family is truly inspiring. I so wish that I could have actually visited Nairobi, but even despite the time difference and working virtually, I was able to maintain a constant line of communication with the team. I'm so grateful for this wonderful experience! I look forward to coming to Nairobi and meeting all your exceptional young men in your new home! We all deserve second chances. However, there are people who haven’t even had their first. Thanks Lifesong Kenya for supporting them and believing in them.

Lifesong Kenya is founded on a truly valuable mission: providing young men with equal opportunities for growth, reconciliation and community reintegration. Volunteering my time, even though remotely, was an amazing and eye-opening experience. James is so inspiring, with lots of creativity and innovative ideas, always ready to find new and effective ways to support the exceptional young men involved in Lifesong Kenya’s projects. Thank you and my best wishes for all your future endeavoursWe all deserve second chances. However, there are people who haven’t even had their first. Thanks Lifesong Kenya for supporting them and believing in them.

It was a good experience working with Lifesong Kenya, James and Kevin. They run a very meaningful programme in Kenya, especially their Food Care programme targeting affected families during the pandemic. However, I was slightly let down by the occasional poor communication and replies from James. This was understandable as James and his team were busy facilitating help and support towards families who needed food relief during Covid-19. Thus, I believe it would be more meaningful and appropriate for volunteer to travel to Kenya and work on-site rather than volunteering online. We all deserve second chances. However, there are people who haven’t even had their first. Thanks Lifesong Kenya for supporting them and believing in them.
