The Power of Your Generosity
Christian’s healing and restoration journey began in February of last year. When arrived at our Halfway House, he was a young boy who was burdened with worries and problems. Timid and withdrawn, he seemed to be losing his way.
With his mom’s struggles with alcohol getting out of hand, Christian dropped of school. Needing a place to belong, he started searching for belonging in the wrong places. With time, he drifted far away from his family. Teetering on the edge, he faced the risk of becoming another statistic. It was just a matter of time before he got caught up in the cycle of juvenile delinquency.
Then, something wonderful happened. A social worker recognized his potential and brought him to our Halfway House. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of a new chapter in Christian’s life.
Christian was met with open arms and a wealth of resources that helped him to start rebuilding his life. With access to housing, medication, and a conducive environment, his self-esteem began soaring. Going back to school was another significant milestone that set the stage for his future success.
But education was just the beginning. Christian kept thriving as he immersed himself in various activities and skills training. From bicycle repair to coding, Christian discovered new talents and passions. He eagerly participated in house chores and had a positive outlook towards life. He joined our cycling and playing football with the other boys at Osupuko Village. Each of these experiences helped him to rediscover joy and purpose.
Building on a Foundation of Dreams and Friendship
Christian also found something that is equally important—a sense of community. Our Halfway House for boys in crisis became more than a place to stay. It became a home where he connected with others. His active participation in church activities has enabled him to build a network of supportive friendships.
These relationships have been instrumental in nurturing Christian’s dreams. He is now envisioning finishing high school, a goal that once seemed out of his reach. Watching him chase his dreams with determination is nothing short of inspiring.
